Welcome to the second Summer Snapshot of 2019!

Published weekly to keep you up-to-date with all things CISV Jacksonville!

This Snapshot will feature upcoming events for our Village in Jacksonville,
Villages to Norway & Brazil, and Jr. Counselor to Philadephia!

Wanted Host Families for July 12-14

The middle weekend of Village includes a weekend homestay where 2 children from 2 different countries spend the weekend with Jacksonville families. That means we need 24 host families.

Please invite your friends with 9-12 yr old children to be a host family.

Host families come to Open Day on July 12 from 6-8 pm and then take the 2 children for the weekend and bring them back to camp on at 7pm on Sunday, July 14. See what an Open Day is like in this photo album.

“Camp Evolution” Village to Norway

Norway Village

Finn, Ruby, Darci, Jaice & Cyrus

At “Camp Evolution” Village, the delegates will focus on CISV’s 2019 educational theme of conflict & resolution. During camp participants will meet conflicts, and through solving those conflicts, they hope to evolve into global citizens. And maybe then, they will have what they need to be better equipped to create a better world.

“Hakuna Matata” Village to Brazil

Tula, Bridget, Javed & Jack Our Village to Belo Horizonte, Brazil includes boys from Orlando and Miami and two girls from Jacksonville led by Leah, an experienced CISVer who grew up in the Jacksonville Chapter.

Jr. Counselor to Philly Village

Mia will represent our chapter and country at “Moon Tree” Village in Philadephia. What are moon trees you might ask? Well these special trees are grown from seeds that have been to space, orbited the moon and have back down. The moon tree seeds were planted throughout the United States and the world. Although they are spread out across the world there happens to be a moon tree in Philadelphia.
