Welcome to 2023 Summer Snapshot #3!

We’ll publish weekly through our busy summer to keep you up-to-date on all things CISV Jacksonville!

This Snapshot will feature our delegations back from Detroit, Mexico, and Washington, Youth Meeting and Interchange in Spain, and FACES camp in Jacksonville.

COMPLETE THE CISV CENSUS
CISV USA is collecting information about CISV members. It will use this information to:

– Establish a demographic baseline
– Inform our Strategic Plan
– Provide chapter statistics
– Assess how the organization can better serve its members in the future

INTERCHANGE HOSTED IN SPAIN

The 9 Jacksonville youth participating in Interchange completed hosting their partners in Jacksonville and are enjoying their travel phase in Spain.

The educational goals of Interchange include

Increase awareness of different cultures
Develop self reliance while living with someone from another culture
Learn how to work cooperatively and have a positive attitude towards others
Act as a responsible active global citizen

YOUTH MEETING TO SPAIN

Our delegation to Spain “Listen to Understand” Youth Meeting is just beginning their camp. The Precamp explains its theme as follows:

“As children, we are all told that we have to listen before answering questions and before jumping into conclussions. however, in this YM, we want to focus on something really important: listening to understand. the united nations have designated 2023 as the international year of dialogue as a guarantee of peace, so in the camp we will try to open ourselves to other peoples cultures, feelings and ideas so that we can understand their actions and we can all live together and learn. To get this camp working, we all have to learn to listen!!”

CALL TO PARENTS: We are collecting information about CISV Jacksonville’s graduating seniors. We want to make sure everyone is included. Please send us a photo of your graduate. It can be any photo: CISV related, graduation photo, etc.
