Welcome to the second Summer Snapshot of 2022!
Published weekly during the summer to keep you up-to-date with all things CISV Jacksonville! This Snapshot will feature our traveling delegations to Village to France, Interchange to Austria, Step Up to Italy and Fortnight to Washington DC.
Our local Faces camp here in Jacksonville has ended, but Step Up is still in full swing.
If you have not already, sign up to help with the camp breakdown and delegation airport transport this Saturday, July 9. We have enjoyed hosting the FACES and Step Up delegates, are thrilled to send youth and leaders to programs around the world, and are delighted to reciprocate here in the USA. VILLAGE TO FRANCE This Village’s pre-camp explains its theme: Enjoy the France Village Photo Album INTERCHANGE TO AUSTRIA Our delegation is currently in Austria with their host families. They will be returning home to the USA in a couple of weeks along with the Austria delegation. We invite you to come to the Austrian national night on July 20th.
Enjoy the Austria Interchange Photo Album STEP UP TO ITALY Our delegation to the Step Up in Reggio Emilia, Italy arrived on July 4th.
The Step Up program encourages young people to take an active role in planning and organizing activities. The participants and their leaders use CISV’s peace education to guide the theme of the camp around which they plan activities, such as identity, democracy, and environmental protection. Enjoy the Italy Step Up Photo Album FORTNIGHT TO WASHINGTON DC Fortnight is an engaging two-week domestic summer program. During their time at camp, they will explore many new topics, such as what it means to be a US citizen, cultural awareness, American cultural history, and diversity. Interchange is a two-way family exchange program. This is a unique opportunity within CISV. While based on the educational principles shared in our camp programs, Interchange encourages a deeper encounter between two cultures by placing young people within families.
