President’s Message
Dear CISV Families:
We could not be more excited to be heading into a CISV summer season. It’s been a long time!
As families prepare to send Jacksonville delegates to live, learn, and experience CISV as guests of far-away chapters, we are simultaneously getting ready to reciprocate with some CISV hospitality of our own.
Our 2022 Step Up will be held in Live Oak where we will be welcoming 10 delegations. Sign up to volunteer as helping hands. We want to show visiting delegates the BEST camp experience possible!
In Peace,
Kerry and Josie

Call for Host Family
Borys, a Polish CISVer, is looking for a host family during his stay in the USA for the AFS Intercultural Program from August 10, 2022 to June 5, 2023. The family is responsible for looking for a host family themselves and once a potential family is identified, AFS will contact them for the rest of the process. AFS will also be responsible for finding a school for the student to attend.
A note from his parents:
Borys (16) is the second oldest child in our family. He has got an older sister Julia aged 19 and a younger brother Igor aged 14.
He is a very responsible and trustworthy person and a great help for all of us. He has a lot of duties at school and takes part in many activities outside of it, such as additional language, piano classes, sports, and is a very active member of voluntary organization (CISV). He also has his regular household chores and always tries to fulfill them on time.
Borys is always fair and loyal to people who believe in him. His teachers seem to like and trust him as well.
He is able to act with great determination when he believes he is right, but he never demands from other people to act his way. Whenever he wants to achieve a goal, he does it with his own engagement and hard work. He is very disciplined and systematic.
When he was 7 years old, he went away to a summer camp for the fist time. When he was 11, he decided to go for a month to the international CISV camp being a member of a delegation of 4 children from Poland. For the whole month he didn’t have any contact with our family besides writing us letters. I believe there is no need to worry he won’t handle the stay on the AFS programme. He is already independent and mature enough to overcome many unexpected situations he may find himself in. Moreover taking part in the AFS programme is his dream, so bearing in mind his previous experience in my opinion he is ready to handle some bad moments if they come up.
Borys is a healthy, strong boy, and doesn’t have any dietary restrictions. Wherever he travels he is always happy to try new dishes and soak up the local culture. He is like a chameleon – able to adapt to new environment, not only to survive but also to have a lot of fun from it:)
I’m looking forward to your help in finding a host family for Borys to make his dream come!
Lots of love.
If you’re interested in being Borys’ host family, please contact Lisa Taylor or Reggie Agulto and they’ll forward you more information.
