December 2023

Another year in the books and closer to our chapter’s 50th Birthday! Thank you for your membership, dedication, and volunteerism this past year. With the end of 2023 marks the beginning of another selection season where the chapter hosts play days, overnights, interviews, and more to select youth campers and adult leaders to represent the chapter in 2024 summer programs. We’re looking forward to seeing you in 2024. And don’t forget to bring friends!

Volunteers Needed

It truly takes a village! If you’re interested in being on the selection committee, please contact Lisa Taylor. Parents, not sure if you qualify? Anyone who have sent their child(ren) on a CISV camp in the past 1+ years and  can commit to be at the February overnights would be ideal candidates! Please sign up for a volunteer slot if you’re interested in planning play days, tabling at UNF, and presenting CISV 101. Sign up at this link or contact Reggie Agulto for more info.

Camp Selection Process

Step 1: Age Eligibility

To be eligible for Faces, you must be between 9 – 11 years old.

To be eligible for Village, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2012 – 8/31/2013
To be eligible for Youth Meeting, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2010 – 8/31/2012
To be eligible for Step Up 14, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2009 – 8/31/2010
To be eligible for Step Up 15, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2008 – 8/31/2009
To be eligible for Junior Counselor, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2006 8/31/2008
To be eligible for Fortnight, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2006 – 8/31/2008
To be eligible for Seminar, your birthday must fall between: 9/1/2006 – 8/31/2008

There will also be a CISV 101s during each play day. More dates: 1/27, 3/2, 4/6

Step 4: Fill out the Application

What needs to be submitted? You can find the youth application here. The application will also ask for two (2) references which typically come from teachers and non-related adults. You can also share this reference form. Please complete your applications before the overnight.

Step 5: Attend an Overnight

Step 6: Interviews

Interviews are from 7pm-10pm during the two (2) overnights. Parents, youth, and leaders will be interviewed by the selection committee. You can sign up for an interview slot when you RSVP.

Step 7: Bonus! Local Mini Camp
