A Message from CISV Jacksonville President-Elect Josie Summa
Dear Friends,
The CISV USA annual virtual “football pool” will take place December 8th, at which point we will know what are our upcoming programs for summer 2022. Please join us Dec 10 for the program reveal, either in person or online… be sure to RSVP for either option. If you join us in-person, we also will learn about the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas.
This is the event to join to learn what programs we will participate and where in the world we will be sending our CISV JAX delegates! Attendees have the option of joining in-person or virtually.
For those wishing to attend in person, this will be a limited-capacity event for fully vaccinated individuals, so please be sure to RSVP. Event will be held at the private residence of one of our volunteers in the San Marco area (location to be provided upon registration) with space indoors and outdoors for social distancing. Following the Reveal we will have an internationally-themed holiday social. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided; feel free to bring your beverage of choice.
Fall General Meeting Recap
We had a great turnout for our Fall General Meeting on Nov. 14th at the South Hampton Amenity Center. The Board provided a recap of our 2021 activities and a preview of what we’re looking forward to in 2022.
We also heard updates from the JB, news about age eligibility updates for programs in 2022 and an exercise to explore and reflect on Diversity, Equality, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA).
Following the business portion of the meeting, attendees in-person enjoyed a potluck cookout and socializing.
JB Update
The Junior Branch held their October Spooky Event on Oct. 24th at Riverside Park, which was a well attended costume and candy exchange. For our November event the group collected and assembled 50 “goodie bags”, each containing personal care items which will be provided to the Sulzbacher Center. The team worked on these during the Fall General Meeting and are grateful to everyone who helped pitch in to donate and collect items!

We have several volunteer openings available to serve the CISV Jacksonville Chapter, with varying degrees of responsibility and time commitment. A few quick facts about volunteering:
CISV Jacksonville is 100% volunteer run in our chapter.
There’s no requirement to have prior CISV experience, or for your children to have participated in a CISV camp, to be eligible to volunteer.
We offer internships for college students each semester and over the summer.
Recruiting season is in full swing and we are hosting several virtual CISV 101 sessions to share the CISV message & mission with prospective delegates and families. If you know someone who would be interested in participating in one of the CISV programs please encourage them to sign up for an upcoming CISV 101. We also are looking for volunteers to help lead and share at our CISV 101’s.
