The presentation at this link has more information for families about the virtual family exchange program. Our chapter can participate this winter break or in April but only if there are at least 4 families interested and an adult leader. Interested in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility?
The CISV USA national team on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility has put the call out to CISV members who might want to work on this team. They cover a lot of ground here and would like additional involvement. Express interest by emailing deia@us.cisv.org. SUPPORT CISV KIDS VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES INTERCHANGE Several of our Junior Branch members are actively involved in JaxTHRIVE, which is a youth-led nonprofit that provides a welcoming resource to refugee students who have come to this country under extraordinary circumstances. With the current crisis in Afghanistan and the resulting displaced persons arriving to our country, JaxThrive’s work is more important than ever!
Before COVID-19 restrictions, JaxTHRIVE volunteers provided tutoring in math, reading, vocabulary, STEAM and essential life skills each Saturday during the school year. With the emergence of the pandemic, JaxTHRIVE successfully transitioned to virtual tutoring in the Jacksonville community and beyond but hopes to return to in-person tutoring in the future.
JaxTHRIVE invites its CISV friends to its 3rd annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 23rd, 7pm outside in the covered area of Central Park at Pablo Creek Reserve. When you arrive, please inform the gate that you are attending the JaxTHRIVE event. Parking is available around the circle and on adjacent side streets.
Enjoy delicious “global” food and drink while listening to live performances by Sarah Park, the Concertmaster of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra Philharmonic and the local acoustic duo “To The Bird” with a guest appearance by teenage violinist Leila Warren.
If you would like to attend the event, please visit the JaxTHRIVE website at www.jaxthrive.net.
Volunteer with CISV! As both a non-profit and 100% volunteer organization, CISV Jacksonville has many opportunities for leadership and giving back. Heading into the 2021-2022 season, there are many positions available! Including: Adult Board Positions
