February 7, 2019 From our President We are in CISV selection mode. We had a fantastic overnight last Friday (Photos here), and our village selection overnight begins at 7pm on Fri, Feb. 8. More applicants are needed so please tell every family that you know with an 11 year old. Share this short video. The first annual “We The Junior Branch Winter Minicamp is February 15-18 in St. Johns County. Register for JB Minicamp here. There are only a few spots available so register soon for a fun weekend about “spies” and “conflict & resolution”. Don’t forget the World of Nations on Feb 23 and 24. This is Northeast Florida’s largest multicultural festival and a wonderful event. Sign up for a shift at our World of Nations Pavilion here. If you did not make it to the Junior Branch Cook-off on January 26th, you probably missed out on tasting a creation of a future Top Chef. On Feb 15-18, the JB is hosting our winter mini-camp at the Camp St. John at Marywood Retreat Center. Camp starts at 7:00 p.m. on 2/15 and ends at 11:00 a.m. on 2/18. The cost of the camp is now $178. The fun theme of the camp is spies and serious theme is conflict and resolution.

As the name suggests, it is a pledge drive and we will be asking for donations to defray the $45,000 cost of operating a Village program in 2019.
However, the pledge drive has other benefits which may be worth just as much as your financial support. With updated contact information on CISVers and their families, we can grow our CISV network, stay connected by sharing chapter news, and include alumni in important chapter events.
Through these connections, we will find many who can volunteer their talents to our very active chapter and even some former CISVers who will want their own children to become involved in local activities through the JB or future outbound programs.
Everyone we contact will know how much effort and dedication goes into a proper Village hosting experience, and they will have great memories of the delegates they have met over the years. The We

World of Nations CISV Jacksonville will once again have a booth at the City of Jacksonville’s World of Nations, which is Feb 23-24 this year. See the world in a single weekend and promote our organization too.

Our winter delegates have returned. Ellie was a Jr. Counselor at Barrilete Village inGuatemala. Kristin traveled halfway around the world to Chandighar, India for CHHAAP youth meeting.
