Our Village & Faces Fun Day gives children a taste of the amazing CISV experience through interactive games\, activities\, and friendship-building led by our enthusiastic Junior Branch leaders. \nThis is your chance to explore what makes CISV special while having an absolute blast! Children will participate in classic CISV activities that build communication\, cooperation\, and cross-cultural understanding. Meanwhile\, parents can learn about our educational approach and connect with other families considering this life-changing opportunity during our CISV 101. \nOpen to Village applicants (born Sept 1\, 2014 – Aug 31\, 2015) and Faces applicants (4th-5th graders in 2026-27 school year). Whether you’ve already applied or are just curious about CISV\, come discover why our programs create friendships that last a lifetime! \nSelection Process: Attending more events increases your chances of selection. DESCRIPTION:CISV Jacksonville selects youth for its Faces program (for kids who are 9\, 10 or 11 years of age during the camp dates). \nSelection events provide children with a firsthand experience of CISV games and activities\, offer parents insights into CISV’s educational principles and program specifics\, and allow our chapter to familiarize itself with youth and leader applicants. \nWe also invite adults to a CISV “101” Info Session to delve deeper into CISV’s principles. \nThe Faces Programs aim to cultivate an understanding of each other’s lives and foster communication\, cooperation\, and communal living. Selection criteria include a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm for participation\, and the ability to be away from family during the program. The delegation’s personality mix is also considered. \nActivities are typically planned and led by teenage leaders from the Junior Branch and experienced adult delegation leaders. DESCRIPTION:To select youth for its Village program\, CISV Jacksonville hosts 3 events. \n\n2 Saturday morning “play days”\n1 Friday night overnight\n\nThe more events you attend the greater likelihood you have of being selected.  The overnight is mandatory. \nSelection events are intended to give kids a chance to see what CISV games and activities are like\, to give parents greater understanding of CISV’s educational principles and program details\, and to give our chapter the opportunity to get to know the youth and leader applicants. \nThe goal of the Village Program is to learn about each other’s lives and how to communicate\, cooperate and live together.  Selection is based on a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm about participation and ability to be away from family for the duration of the program. Additionally\, the mix of personalities to form the delegation is a factor. It would not be good to put all extreme extroverts together\, for example. \nThe activities are generally planned and lead by the teenage leaders of the Junior Branch and adults who have led delegations in the past.  Having to plan the selection events allows the youth leaders in our chapter to continue to practice their leadership skills. \nAll Village applicants and their parents will be interviewed during one of selection events.  We prefer if youth interested in participating in a Village apply before the selection event but if you are just interested in learning more\, please join us for the events without applying. \nLearn more about the selection process here.
