DESCRIPTION:CISV Jacksonville conducts three events to select participants for its Village program (children born between September 1\, 2013\, and August 31\, 2014) and Faces program (4th or 5th-grade students in the 2024-25 school year): \n\nTwo Saturday Morning “Play Days”\nOne Friday Night Overnight (Mandatory)\n\nAttending more events increases the likelihood of selection. The overnight event is mandatory. \nThese selection events offer children a glimpse into CISV games and activities\, provide parents with a deeper understanding of CISV’s educational principles and program specifics\, and allow our chapter to familiarize itself with youth and leader applicants. \nWe also host a CISV “101” Info Session for adults to gain insights into CISV’s principles. \nThe Village and Faces Programs aim to foster understanding\, communication\, cooperation\, and communal living. Selection criteria include a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm for participation\, and the ability to be away from family during the program. The composition of personalities within the delegation is also considered for a balanced mix. \nActivities are typically planned and led by teenage leaders from the Junior Branch and experienced adult leaders. Planning selection events enables our chapter’s youth leaders to hone their leadership skills. \nAll Village applicants and their parents will undergo interviews during one of the selection events. Saturday and Sunday will be full days with 4-5 activities surrounding this theme. DESCRIPTION:To select youth age 12-17 for the Interchange\, Step Up\, Youth Meeting and Fortnight programs\, CISV Jacksonville hosts one event. \nSelection events are intended to give kids a chance to see what CISV games and activities are like\, to give parents greater understanding of CISV’s educational principles and program details\, and to give our chapter the opportunity to get to know the youth and leader applicants. \nWe are also offering a CISV 101 from 7:15-8:30p\, which is an introductory presentation by past CISV participants and their parents. \nInterchange candidates are selected based on their application\, home visit and this event.  Interchange applicants are generally selected on a first come\, first served basis. \nAll applicants and their parents (other than interchange parents) will be interviewed during this event.  Please complete your application before the event. CISV will announce its 2023 programs at its Fall General Meeting!\nThis event will\n\n\ncelebrate and recognize the Jacksonville youth and leaders that represented of the USA at 2022 CISV programs\,\n\n\nannounce upcoming events\, and\n\n\n(drum roll!) announce 2023 program dates and destinations\n\n\nBe the first to hear!\nThe Junior Branch will host activities for children and teens beginning at 3:00 pm.  Adults will have a social hour. People new to CISV can participate in a CISV “101” info session at 3:00.\nThe Fall General Meeting for adults and youth will begin at 4:00 pm.\n\n			\n	\n\n
