Our awesome CISV Jacksonville Junior Branch Board are planning an amazing mini camp for you. \nFun theme: Spies\nSerious theme: Conflict and Resolution\nSince many of the participants are from different schools\, the minicamp will start with “name games” and other “getting to know you activities so don’t worry about not knowing anyone when the camp begins. Saturday and Sunday will be full days with 4-5 activities surrounding this theme. Each activity will be followed by a “debrief” where we discuss our “attitudes\, skills and knowledge” that have been changed or influenced by the activity. \nHow do I register?\nEmail colesjp@gmail.com if you would like to register and he will send you the registration link.  We have still have space available.  Please join us!\nHow much does it cost?\n$150 if you register by Feb 1. Marywood Retreat and Conference Center rests on the St. Johns River just minutes from Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Its 100 acres of beautiful tranquility is accented with towering live oak trees and gardens making it a perfect environment for any type of gathering. Informal carpools are encouraged. We do need to know on your registration form\, who will be picking up your camper on Monday. \nWhat should I bring?\n• A snack to share. Don’t bring snacks that need to be refrigerated\n• Comfy clothes you can move in\n• Dress for the weather! It can be cool in Feb. Enough for 3 days\n• Sleeping bag or sheets and blanket. SUMMARY:Village/Faces Fun Day #1 2025 & CISV 101
DESCRIPTION:CISV Jacksonville conducts three events to select participants for its Village program (children born between September 1\, 2013\, and August 31\, 2014) and Faces program (4th or 5th-grade students in the 2024-25 school year): \n\nTwo Saturday Morning “Play Days”\nOne Friday Night Overnight (Mandatory)\n\nAttending more events increases the likelihood of selection. The overnight event is mandatory. \nThese selection events offer children a glimpse into CISV games and activities\, provide parents with a deeper understanding of CISV’s educational principles and program specifics\, and allow our chapter to familiarize itself with youth and leader applicants. \nWe also host a CISV “101” Info Session for adults to gain insights into CISV’s principles. \nThe Village and Faces Programs aim to foster understanding\, communication\, cooperation\, and communal living. Selection criteria include a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm for participation\, and the ability to be away from family during the program. The composition of personalities within the delegation is also considered for a balanced mix. \nActivities are typically planned and led by teenage leaders from the Junior Branch and experienced adult leaders. Planning selection events enables our chapter’s youth leaders to hone their leadership skills. \nAll Village applicants and their parents will undergo interviews during one of the selection events.
