Selection criteria include a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm for participation\, and the ability to be away from family during the program. The delegation’s personality mix is also considered. \nActivities are typically planned and led by teenage leaders from the Junior Branch and experienced adult delegation leaders. Planning selection events serves as a platform for our youth leaders to further develop their leadership skills. \nFor interested families\, we offer a CISV parent “minicamp” from 7:30 to 9:30\, providing parents with the chance to engage in activities similar to those conducted at camp. \nAll Village applicants and their parents will undergo interviews during one of the selection events. The overnight event is mandatory. \nThese selection events offer children a glimpse into CISV games and activities\, provide parents with a deeper understanding of CISV’s educational principles and program specifics\, and allow our chapter to familiarize itself with youth and leader applicants. \nWe also host a CISV “101” Info Session for adults to gain insights into CISV’s principles. \nThe Village and Faces Programs aim to foster understanding\, communication\, cooperation\, and communal living. Selection criteria include a child’s maturity\, openness to new experiences and people\, enthusiasm for participation\, and the ability to be away from family during the program. The composition of personalities within the delegation is also considered for a balanced mix. \nActivities are typically planned and led by teenage leaders from the Junior Branch and experienced adult leaders. Planning selection events enables our chapter’s youth leaders to hone their leadership skills. \nAll Village applicants and their parents will undergo interviews during one of the selection events. Our awesome group of junior leaders (with the help of their adult counterparts) are planning an amazing mini camp for you and other CISVers from the Southern Region. \nA mini camp is a 2-3 day program organized by a local chapter that imitates what it would be like to spend time at a national or international CISV program. It brings together experienced CISV participants and others\, that may be new to CISV\, to learn what CISV is all about. It is a fun weekend that aims to build cross-cultural understanding\, empathy\, and peace.
